If you don’t know what true love is. What a man is willing to do for true love Watch the movie “Vallis and Edward”.
British King Edward VIII for his love of American Vallis Simpson abdicated. He renounced the British crown for love, and was taken over by his brother George VI. They tried to compromise her. Edward knew it was a lie. Love has won. Check out the most romantic movie. And remember that, every time you mention the word love.
I have the book about Wallis and Simpson.

It’s amazing how things have changed. Prince Charles married a divorced woman and he wasn’t asked to give up the crown. However, it seems that Edward VIII, later Duke of Windsor was a Nazi sympathizer. So I’m not very unhappy about his abdication. 🙂 But the love story between him and Wallis Simpson is, indeed, very touching.

And there once was a man who loved a woman
She was the one he gave his kingdom for
They say that nobody ever loved as much as he

Merci Louis.

Plato said ”Every heart sings a song, incomplete until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.” I suppose the most discussed, and still, the most misunderstood human trait is Love.

I don’t want to argue with you but love didn’t make him happy either . And I have found true love so this doesn’t apply to me 🙂

While Edward VIII did give up his throne for Wallis Simpson, there is significant historic evidence that he expected to regain it when the Nazis conquered England. That the two were Nazi sympathizers is well documented.
As king, Edward was, also, head of the Church of England. That fact was a legacy of Henry VIII’s dispute w/ Rome. Wallis was a twice divorced and highly materialistic woman who was known to have had multiple affairs.
PBS has several programs on this subject. If you’re interested, you might check out “The Crown” https://www.history.com/news/history-behind-the-crown-queen-elizabeth-edward-margaret-fact-check or “Spying on the Royals” https://www.channel4.com/programmes/spying-on-the-royals.
